I’m new to maintaining chickens and a coop, so quite personally when I heard about using coffee grounds- I wasn’t sure about it. Let me tell you, everyone that comes over comments on the cleanliness of the coop, no smell and how absolutely easy it is to clean. Ive been on the hunt for the perfect bedding for my coop and run and finally found it! The coffee grounds are a perfect fit and leave everything fresh and easy to clean! Don’t waste your time with the dust and grime of hemp or pine! Once you use the grounds from Cluckingham Palace you’ll never go back!

These grounds offer many benefits. I was using Timothy Hay and it was a pain to clean up, only lasted about a week before drying out, allowed the smell to linger and was expensive to replace. I filled my coop full with these grounds and it’s been a blessing having them. To clean up I use a cat scooper and simply just remove the poops. (which also makes it nice and easy if you’re going to process fertilizer) The smell is nonexistent and the real bonus is the chicks LOVE it! I’ve had them in for several weeks and they still seem to be fresh. I also dumped a pile on the ground and as you can see in the videos on the site, they spread them out, make a ditch and take the best (filthiest) coffee bath ever. They loved them so much they didn’t lay for a day because the were too busy/happy lounging in the grounds. It’s well worth the investment and I will continue to use these grounds.

Support Local!! I used to be a chef, but now I just like to cook for friends. The Fresh Eggs I get from Cluckingham Palace have made super cakes, custards and ice creams out of local fruits. Did you know that San Diego County has more farms than any other county in America. Over 3,000!! Whats more American than supporting local farmer directly. I love it here, in Valley Center. Having raised chickens for 14 years, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to organic pastured raised eggs. I only purchase pasture raised or home grown eggs as I want them to come from happy healthy chickens. Not only are the chickens given plenty of room to enjoy the fresh air, but they are well fed and lay some of the largest eggs I have had the pleasure of buying.

I stopped raising chickens in 2018 and have purchased both pasture raised eggs from the grocery store and home grown eggs from folks I know. These are by far my favorite. And Brooke is always looking for ways to improve her chickens’ diet and I know that she cares deeply about the quality of life she gives to her flock. I have actually visited her home and have seen it with my own eyes.
